Smelling Guava

At the edge of the ocean, as waves crept onto shore, the weight of the lush, green forest was at my back. Freshly dropped guavas oozed their succulent fragrance into the salty air. Kate Royal’s version of Antonin Dvorak’s ‘Song to the Moon’ wound through my mind.

Every particle of me awoke.

In that moment, I was alive.

And I knew it.
